Armenian Festival Celebrates Independence Anniversary in Vilnius

An Armenian Festival and Fair took place August 15 in Vilnius, Lithuania, marking the 35th anniversary of Lithuania's recognition of Armenian independence. Organized by Armenia's Embassy in Lithuania alongside the Honorary Consul's office and the Union of Armenians of Lithuania, the event drew Armenian entrepreneurs, diplomatic officials, and Lithuanian government representatives.

Archbishop Vazgen Mirzakhanyan conducted a traditional Blessing of the Grapes ceremony, explaining its significance in Armenian Church practice. Attendees sampled Armenian cuisine, wines, and preserves while learning about culinary traditions. The Teryan Cultural Centre from Armenia displayed traditional ornaments, handmade ceramics, and souvenirs.

The festival featured Armenian music and dance performances, alongside sports demonstrations, chess and backgammon tournaments, and master classes. Lithuanian media outlets provided coverage of the event.
