Armenian Community Joins Watertown Memorial Day Parade
Veterans, community groups participate in Watertown Memorial Day parade
Members of Watertown, Massachusetts' Armenian community participated in the city's annual Memorial Day parade on Monday, May 25, honoring current and former armed forces members. The parade began at noon at Watertown City Hall, proceeding along Waverley Avenue and Orchard Street before concluding near Victory Field. The route included local veterans, youth sports teams, and various community organizations.
A formal ceremony took place at the event's conclusion with participation from Watertown's veterans' organization. Armenian Americans have maintained a significant presence in Watertown for more than a century, contributing to the city's civic, cultural, and economic life through local organizations, military service, and law enforcement positions.
