Armenian Ambassador Meets Greek Regional Governor on Trade Ties
Armenian Ambassador discusses regional cooperation with Eastern Macedonia and Thrace Governor
Armenia's Ambassador to Greece Tigran Mkrtchyan met with Christodoulos Topsidis, Governor of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace, to discuss expanding economic and diplomatic cooperation between the two countries.
The ambassador highlighted potential partnerships between Armenia's Shirak Province and the Greek region, presenting Armenia's "Crossroads of Peace" initiative and the TRIPP project as frameworks for unblocking regional communications and creating economic opportunities. Discussion also covered Armenian agricultural exports to European markets and Greece's role in facilitating trade.
Governor Topsidis expressed support for joint participation in EU-funded interregional programs and outlined the strategic importance of local infrastructure, including the Port of Alexandroupoli. Both officials acknowledged the historic Armenian community presence in the region and agreed to pursue additional cooperation opportunities.
