Armenian Ambassador highlights child rights reforms at UNICEF event in Greece

Armenia's Ambassador to Greece, Tigran Mkrtchyan, participated in a UNICEF-organized children's rights conference at the International Hellenic University in Thessaloniki. The high-level event convened ambassadors, international organization representatives, and child welfare experts to discuss protections for minors.
Mkrtchyan chaired a panel discussion and detailed Armenia's recent child protection initiatives, including the adoption of the Law on the Rights of the Child and Child Protection System in 2025. He outlined programs addressing education, healthcare, and social services.
The ambassador emphasized Armenia's partnership with UNICEF and highlighted emerging challenges including digital safety and online disinformation. He noted that Armenia's Ministry of Education has designated the 2025–2026 academic year the "Year of a Safe and Secure Educational Environment." Attendees exchanged perspectives on child protection challenges and explored opportunities for multilateral cooperation.
