Armenia, Türkiye discuss revival of Gyumri-Kars railway

Armenia's Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan led a delegation of senior ministry officials and diplomatic mission heads to the Akhurik border crossing between Armenia and Türkiye as part of the annual gathering of Armenia's diplomatic service.

The group visited Akhuryan railway station, which is part of the Gyumri-Kars railway line. During the visit, delegates discussed efforts to restore and reactivate the railway corridor and reviewed progress on the ongoing project.

The railway line represents a potential transportation link between the two neighboring countries and has been a subject of regional discussion as part of broader efforts to normalize relations and restore regional connectivity following the 2020 war.
