Armenia's government will construct UEFA Category 4-standard football stadiums in Vanadzor and Ijevan to host matches during the 2029 FIFA U-20 World Cup, which Armenia and Georgia will jointly organize. Each stadium will seat more than 10,000 spectators.

The tournament will feature 24 teams playing 52 matches, with half held in Armenia across three cities: Yerevan, Ijevan, and Vanadzor. An existing stadium in Vanadzor will be reconstructed, while a new facility will be built in Ijevan's Getahovit settlement.

Construction and renovation work is expected to take 24 months, with completion targeted for late 2028β€”at least six months before the tournament. The government will use expedited single-source procurement procedures due to time constraints. UEFA is providing technical assistance, and Armenian officials are negotiating with international firm Venueera Holding for stadium design and construction expertise.
