Armenia Signs Contract for Six Airbus H145 Helicopters
Airbus and Armenia sign for six H145 helicopters
Armenia has signed a contract with Airbus Helicopters for the acquisition of six H145 multi-purpose helicopters, marking the country's first agreement with the European manufacturer. The deal was finalized during French President Emmanuel Macron's official state visit to Yerevan and represents a modernization of Armenia's aerial capabilities.
The five-bladed H145 helicopters are designed for transport missions and are well-suited to Armenia's mountainous terrain and high-altitude environments. The aircraft features advanced digital avionics, dual Safran engines, and is noted for low acoustic emissions and minimal CO2 output compared to competing models. More than 1,800 H145 helicopters are currently in service worldwide, with over 8.5 million cumulative flight hours.
