Armenia’s Constitutional Court recuses two judges from election challenge case
Armenia's Constitutional Court has disqualified two of its judges from hearing petitions that challenge the results of June 7 parliamentary elections, citing potential bias concerns.
Judges Artak Zeynalyan and Vladimir Vardanyan were recused after the New Force Reformist Party raised objections. Zeynalyan is a former member of the Republic Party, while Vardanyan previously belonged to the Civil Contract Party—both of which participated in the contested elections.
In related procedural matters, the Court granted Civil Contract party third-party status in the case and consolidated appeals from seven political forces. Judge Edgar Shatiryan was appointed as the reporting judge overseeing the consolidated proceedings. Hearings are scheduled to begin June 26 at 11 a.m.
