Armenia, France highlight progress in defense cooperation
Armenia's Defense Minister Suren Papikyan met with France's Ambassador to Armenia Olivier Decottignies on August 26 as the ambassador concluded his diplomatic assignment. Papikyan acknowledged Decottignies' contributions to strengthening bilateral defense relations during his tenure. The Armenian defense minister cited progress across multiple cooperation areas, including military-technical collaboration, military education and training programs, and expert exchanges. The two nations have also conducted joint military exercises. Papikyan stressed the importance of sustaining and expanding defense sector cooperation between the two countries. The meeting reflected ongoing efforts by Armenia to deepen security partnerships with Western allies.
