Anti-Corruption Committee details property and bribery schemes involving Robert Kocharyan
Armenia's Anti-Corruption Committee has released details of an ongoing criminal investigation into alleged corruption schemes involving former President Robert Kocharyan and his son, Sedrak Kocharyan. Investigators claim the former president used his official position to acquire valuable state-owned properties at prices substantially below market value, then concealed ownership through affiliated companies. Properties cited include an 8.3-hectare plot where Play City entertainment center was built, a two-hectare plot near the Cascade complex later sold for AMD 1.742 billion, and commercial premises on Paronyan Street. The investigation also examines the Kaputak Sevan resort complex and Orange Fitness club. Additionally, investigators allege 56 properties valued at AMD 2.634 billion were transferred as bribes in connection with the sale of the Officers' House building, a listed historical monument.
