Armenia Reports Record Repatriation as Diaspora Program Expands
Pashinyan highlights growing repatriation trends in meeting with Diaspora professionals
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan met with participants of the "iGorts" program, which recruits diaspora professionals into Armenia's public administration. Pashinyan highlighted that in 2025, the number of Armenian citizens returning to the country exceeded those departing by more than 8,000—a shift he attributed partly to improved regional stability.
The iGorts program, now in its sixth cohort with 45 participants from 12 countries, has retained 68-70% of graduates in Armenia over five years. Pashinyan described the initiative as part of Armenia's broader strategy to institutionalize repatriation and population growth. He outlined plans to recruit top university graduates into government and emphasized reformatting Armenia-Diaspora relations to support sustainable immigration trends.
