Armenia opens high-tech tomato greenhouse complex in Aragatsotn

Armenia's Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan inaugurated the "Agro Prom" tomato greenhouse complex in Aragatsotn Province, marking a significant investment in the country's agricultural sector. The state-of-the-art facility, which cost approximately AMD 9.7 billion, incorporates artificial intelligence management systems and robotic solutions for crop monitoring. The greenhouse operates chemical-free and holds GLOBALG.A.P. certification, using virus-resistant Dutch tomato seeds. The company benefited from Armenia's government support program for greenhouse development. Plans include a new 10-hectare pepper greenhouse with AMD 9 billion in planned investment, followed by blueberry and grape orchards. Officials emphasized the project's potential to drive economic growth, attract foreign investment, and create employment opportunities.
