Armenia's government has approved a seven-year Physical Artificial Intelligence program with $14 million in combined public and private funding. The initiative will establish AI and robotics research capabilities at three universities: Yerevan State University, the National Polytechnic University of Armenia, and the American University of Armenia.

The program aims to build a research base with at least three senior scientists, 12 postdoctoral researchers, and 60 visiting scientists working in teams of 15. Over seven years, it expects to produce 330 graduates in robotics and AI, generate 20+ international publications, secure at least two patents, and establish laboratories where AI integrates with physical systems.

Education Minister Zhanna Andreasyan said the initiative addresses strategic priorities in scientific investment and higher education quality. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan emphasized Armenia's goal to develop industrial capacity in Physical AI and attract diaspora expertise and investment in the field.
