Armenia joins U.S.-led Trade over Aid Initiative, showcases TRIPP and AI investments

Armenia has joined the U.S.-led Trade over Aid initiative, Deputy Foreign Minister Robert Abisoghomonyan announced at a forum in New York on July 13. The initiative prioritizes trade, investment and economic resilience over traditional development aid.
Abisoghomonyan outlined Armenia's economic priorities, including diversification, transition to a knowledge-based economy, and development of technology sectors. He highlighted Armenia-U.S. strategic cooperation projects, including the TRIPP regional connectivity initiative and the Firebird AI data center under construction with backing from NVIDIA and Dell Technologies.
The deputy foreign minister also noted progress in nuclear energy cooperation and critical minerals agreements with the United States, as well as deepening trade integration with the European Union. Armenia views the Trade over Aid framework as aligned with its development goals and regional stability objectives.
