Armenia, EAEU discuss technical regulation and removal of trade barriers
Armenian Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan met with Alexander Subbotin, Minister of the Eurasian Economic Commission, to discuss cooperation within the Eurasian Economic Union on technical regulation, standardization, and conformity assessment.
The discussion centered on efforts to eliminate existing technical barriers to trade among EAEU member states. Officials exchanged views on current challenges within the sector and explored potential solutions to streamline regulatory frameworks.
The meeting concluded with both sides outlining directions for future cooperation. Armenia has been an EAEU member since 2015, alongside Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan. Technical harmonization is a key focus area for the bloc as members work to facilitate cross-border commerce.
