Armenia, Azerbaijan Sign Internet Transit Agreement
Armenia, Azerbaijan telecom operators sign internet transit agreement
Telecom Armenia and AzerTelecom have signed a bilateral agreement to facilitate commercial transit and delivery of internet traffic across their respective territories. The accord allows Telecom Armenia, a regional transit operator, to expand its geographic reach and the number of countries it serves through international internet traffic routing, while also providing transit services toward Azerbaijan.
Both companies said the agreement aims to diversify regional connectivity routes, improve telecommunications network reliability, and strengthen cooperation in the sector. Officials expect the partnership to advance digital infrastructure development across the South Caucasus by creating additional international data transmission pathways and enhancing regional connectivity.
