Armenia and US Expand Agricultural Trade Cooperation
Armenia, US discuss expanding agricultural trade and regulatory cooperation
Armenian and U.S. officials met to discuss expanding bilateral agricultural trade and strengthening regulatory cooperation. The meeting brought together Tigran Petrosyan, head of Armenia's Food Safety Inspectorate, with USDA representatives and U.S. Embassy officials from Turkey and Georgia.
Discussions centered on exporting Armenian agricultural products and flowers to the United States, as well as goods transiting through Turkey to other countries. Participants addressed phytosanitary certification, product traceability, business registration in the TRACES system, pesticide residue limits, and laboratory capacity development.
Both sides identified trade barriers and committed to deepening cooperation between their competent authorities. Officials emphasized the importance of joint efforts to remove obstacles and boost bilateral commerce while strengthening broader economic ties between the two nations.
