Armenia and US Elevate Relations to 'Comprehensive Strategic Partnership'
‘Historically unprecedented’: Mirzoyan hails new era in Armenia-US relations
Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced a significant upgrade in bilateral relations during a joint press conference in Yerevan, describing the partnership as entering a "historically unprecedented phase."
The two countries formalized their relationship as a "comprehensive strategic partnership," expanding cooperation across multiple sectors including artificial intelligence, semiconductor technologies, nuclear energy, and critical minerals. Mirzoyan credited the August 2024 Washington Peace Summit, hosted by President Donald Trump, as a pivotal moment that enabled peace agreements between Armenia and Azerbaijan and advanced regional transport initiatives.
During Rubio's visit, the countries signed a new agreement focused on minerals and critical resources. Mirzoyan stated that all new agreements would provide "unprecedented opportunities" for Armenia and benefit the nation's development.
