Armenia and UAE Agree to Liberalize Trade and Investment
Armenia, UAE set to liberalize Trade in Services and Investment
Armenia's government has approved ratification of a new trade agreement with the United Arab Emirates, signed in February 2026. The bilateral accord aims to reduce economic barriers and expand cooperation in services and investment between the two nations.
Under the agreement, Armenia will offer preferential access to Emirati suppliers in agriculture, forestry, engineering consultancy, healthcare, education, and postal services. The UAE will reciprocate by granting Armenian providers advantages in computer services, telecommunications, equipment repair, and consulting.
The deal includes chapters on trade in services, investment protection, dispute resolution, and transparency. Both countries have also agreed to streamline procedures for legal, construction, accounting, and auditing services. Officials expect the agreement to open new markets for businesses and stimulate bilateral investment flows.
