Armenia's government has allocated AMD 957.9 million (approximately $2.5 million USD) to develop the country's artificial intelligence capabilities through a strategic partnership with Firebird AI CJSC, the Ministry of High-Tech Industry announced. The funding will support the acquisition of high-performance GPU computing resources from the AI infrastructure company. Under an agreement signed in April 2026, Firebird AI plans to launch the South Caucasus's first and largest AI supercomputer, powered by NVIDIA Blackwell GPUs. The project aims to establish a modern AI data center and equip Armenia with advanced digital infrastructure for the 21st century. The computing resources will serve AI startups, research teams, educational institutions, and government bodies developing and deploying artificial intelligence systems.
