ANCA endorses Rep. Mike Lawler for re-election to Congress
The Armenian National Committee of America (ANCA) has endorsed Congressman Mike Lawler (R-NY) for re-election to represent New York's 17th Congressional District. The organization cited Lawler's record on Armenian issues, awarding him an 'A' rating among Republican members. Lawler has led bipartisan efforts to enforce Section 907 of the FREEDOM Support Act, which restricts U.S. military assistance to Azerbaijan. He has also championed legislation to block advanced weapons sales benefiting Turkey and advocated for the release of Armenian hostages and Armenia's sovereignty. The congressional letter he led attracted support from 60 lawmakers. Lawler has cosponsored the Azerbaijan Sanctions Review Act and addressed a Capitol Hill Armenian Genocide commemoration earlier this year.
