Strong Armenia Party challenges June election results in court
Strong Armenia Party challenges parliamentary election results in Constitutional Court
Armenia's Strong Armenia Party has filed a petition with the Constitutional Court to invalidate results from the June 7, 2026 parliamentary elections. Party representative Aram Vardevanyan submitted the application, arguing the election results should be declared invalid, though specific grounds for the challenge were not detailed in the filing.
According to the Central Electoral Commission's final count, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's Civil Contract Party secured approximately 49.7–49.8% of the vote and maintained its parliamentary majority. The Strong Armenia Alliance emerged as the leading opposition force with roughly 23.2% of the vote, while the Armenia Alliance placed third and also won parliamentary seats.
The Constitutional Court petition represents the first major legal challenge to the election outcome.
