Russia suspends sale of over 70,000 bottles of Armenian water and soft drinks
Russia's state product labeling system has suspended the sale of over 70,000 bottles of drinking water and soft drinks imported from Armenia following safety violations identified by federal regulators.
The Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing ordered the restrictions on specific production batches of BJNI mineral water, WATERLOCK natural drinking water, and DARBAS "Mojito" carbonated soft drink. Authorities cited violations of mandatory product requirements and cited the need to "prevent possible harm to the life and health of Russian citizens."
The suspension affects only products manufactured on specific dates and does not apply to other products from the three Armenian manufacturers involved. Russia's integrated labeling system, which connects to retail cash registers nationwide, has blocked the restricted batches from sale pending inspection completion.
