Richard Giragosian, Prominent Analyst, Dies in Istanbul

Richard Giragosian, a respected political analyst and scholar specializing in South Caucasus affairs, has died in Istanbul. Giragosian was the director of the Regional Studies Institute in Yerevan and served as a guest lecturer for the U.S. Army Special Forces at Fort Bragg's John F. Kennedy Special Warfare Center and School. He also taught at the NATO Defense College in Rome and held faculty positions at Yerevan State University. His work focused on Armenian politics, regional security, and geopolitical developments in the Caucasus. Giragosian was known for his analytical commentary on Armenian affairs and contributed significantly to academic understanding of the region among Western military and diplomatic audiences.
