Jazz Singer Lucy Yeghiazaryan Debuts Album at Birdland

Jazz vocalist Lucy Yeghiazaryan, born in Armenia and now based in New Jersey, celebrated the release of her debut album "Hey Love!" with a three-night residency at Birdland Jazz Theater in New York City in late June. The album, produced with Richard Stepanian and recorded at the historic Van Gelder Studio, features classic jazz standards and an original composition. Yeghiazaryan performed alongside a sextet including pianist Tardo Hammer and tenor saxophonist Grant Stewart, her husband. During the concerts, Yeghiazaryan balanced contemporary jazz interpretations with an a cappella Armenian folk song, reflecting her cultural roots. The performance showcased her distinctive vocal style and scatting ability, which generated viral social media attention during the album's recording sessions. "Hey Love!" marks her first album as a mother.
