Greece Visa System Failures Disrupt Armenian Travel Plans
Greece visa delays paralyze travel agencies in Armenia

Armenian travel agencies report severe technical problems booking Greek visa appointments as the summer tourist season begins. According to Alina Petrosyan, founder of Any Wish Tour and president of the Federation of Tourism Innovation and Development, verification codes required to confirm appointments through Greece's visa system fail to arrive, affecting 600 to 700 travel companies. Industry representatives have raised the issue repeatedly with authorities, who deny any problems on their end. Petrosyan suggests the obstacles may be intentionally created. The crisis forces travel agencies to redirect clients to alternative destinations like Cyprus. She also expressed skepticism about European Union visa liberalization for Armenia, estimating the process will take at least three to five more years given the complex implementation requirements.
