France Marks First Anniversary of Armenia-Azerbaijan Peace Deal

France's Foreign Ministry issued a statement today marking the first anniversary of the Armenia-Azerbaijan peace agreement, commending both nations' leaders for taking "important and bold steps" toward making peace a reality for their populations.

The statement reflects international diplomatic support for the peace process between the two countries, which have experienced decades of conflict over the Nagorno-Karabakh region. France, a permanent member of the UN Security Council and co-chair of the OSCE Minsk Group, has historically played a significant role in mediation efforts in the South Caucasus.

The anniversary milestone comes as Armenia and Azerbaijan continue negotiations on remaining issues related to the ceasefire agreement and normalization of relations.
