Four more political forces challenge Armenia’s Parliamentary election results in Constitutional Court
Four political parties in Armenia have filed applications with the Constitutional Court challenging the results of the June 7 parliamentary elections, joining an earlier challenge by the Strong Armenia Alliance.
The Prosperous Armenia Party, Wings of Unity Party, Democracy Law and Discipline Party, and Armenia Alliance are seeking annulment of the election results. The Constitutional Court must decide on the admissibility of the applications within two days and issue a final ruling within 15 days of filing, under Armenian law.
According to final results released June 14, the Civil Contract Party won 49.7 percent of votes and 64 parliamentary seats. The Strong Armenia Alliance received 23.3 percent and 29 seats, while the Armenia Alliance secured 9.9 percent and 12 seats. Three political forces qualified for the 101-seat National Assembly.
