Trump hosts Armenian religious leaders, Ambassador at Oval Office
Armenian religious leaders and Armenia's U.S. Ambassador met with President Donald Trump at the White House Oval Office on September 16, 2026. The delegation, representing the Armenian Apostolic Church's Eastern and Western Dioceses, the Catholicosate of the Great House of Cilicia, the Armenian Catholic Church, and the Armenian Evangelical Association, discussed Armenia-U.S. relations, religious freedoms, and peace efforts in Armenia.
The meeting was coordinated by Armenia's Embassy in the United States and the White House Faith Office. Participants included Archbishop Hovnan Derderian, Bishop Mesrop Parsamyan, Archbishop Anoushavan Tanielian, Archbishop Gegham Khacherian, Bishop Mikael Mouradian, and Reverend Henrik Shahnazarian. The religious leaders offered a collective prayer for the well-being of both nations and emphasized the role of faith in establishing peace and strengthening mutual understanding.
