Armenian National Committees Respond to Russian, Azerbaijani Statements on Karabakh

The Armenian National Committees have issued a statement responding to claims made by Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova and Azerbaijani officials regarding the 2020 Karabakh conflict and the Collective Security Treaty Organization's non-involvement.
The committees disputed Zakharova's assertion that Armenia failed to recognize Nagorno-Karabakh's status, clarifying that while Armenia did not formally recognize Artsakh de jure as an independent state, it maintained extensive state-to-state relations including diplomatic representation and official agreements.
The statement also rejected Azerbaijan's claim that the international community has consistently recognized Karabakh as part of Azerbaijan, noting that OSCE Minsk Group settlement proposals since 2007 included provisions for the Nagorno-Karabakh people's right to self-determination. The committees emphasized their commitment to supporting the right of return for Artsakh residents, as affirmed by the International Court of Justice.
