Armenian Chef Transforms Fashion Into Edible Art
Haute Couture, baked: Artur Poghosyan’s radical dessert architecture

Artur Poghosyan, an Armenian entrepreneur now based in Los Angeles, has gained international recognition for his innovative approach to pastry design that treats desserts as architectural structures inspired by haute couture. From 2023 to 2025, Poghosyan operated the Christian Fashion Café in Yerevan, the Caucasus' first venue dedicated to translating iconic fashion designs into edible creations. In November 2024, he showcased his work at a Golden Autumn Gala Dinner attended by journalists from Vogue, Forbes, and National Geographic Traveller, as well as Michelin-starred chefs. Poghosyan, whose mother is a pastry chef, emphasizes that dessert design should develop flavor and form in parallel, where visual presentation shapes the diner's anticipated taste experience. He is currently pursuing an MBA and working on a forthcoming book.
