Armenia to Build New Asylum Seeker Facility in Kotayk
New facility for asylum seekers to be built in Armenia’s Kotayk province
Armenia's government has allocated state property in Kotayk Province's Abovyan to construct a new accommodation facility for asylum seekers. The Migration and Citizenship Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs will receive a residential facility, boiler house, and 2-hectare plot of land in Shushi district on an indefinite, free-of-charge basis. The property, valued at AMD 313.2 million, will house a specialized facility designed to meet international standards for housing people seeking asylum in Armenia. The initiative reflects the government's effort to improve conditions and infrastructure for asylum processing in the country.
