PM Pashinyan introduces Lilit Makunts as new Chief of Staff
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has appointed Lilit Makunts as the new Chief of Staff of the Prime Minister's Office. Makunts, who previously served as Armenia's Ambassador to the United States and as the Prime Minister's Chief Adviser, brings extensive public service experience including a tenure as Minister of Culture in 2018 and leadership of the parliamentary My Step faction.
Outgoing Chief of Staff Arayik Harutyunyan, who held the position for five years, will transition to the National Assembly. Pashinyan praised Harutyunyan's contributions and expressed confidence in Makunts' ability to advance the government's agenda. Both the incoming and outgoing officials pledged continued cooperation during the transition. Pashinyan said the government faces significant work in the coming years to ensure continuity of Armenian statehood.
