Armenia's Court Approves U.S. TRIPP Framework for Assembly Vote

Armenia's Constitutional Court ruled that the country's obligations under the Armenia-U.S. TRIPP development framework comply with the Constitution, clearing the way for National Assembly ratification.
Under the agreement, a TRIPP Development Company will operate with a 74% U.S. stake and 26% Armenian stake for an initial 49-year period. If extended by mutual consent for another 50 years, Armenia's stake would increase to 49%. The Armenian government maintains all infrastructure on Armenian territory will remain under Armenian sovereignty.
The development continues to spark disagreement over terminology, with Azerbaijan's Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov referring to the route as the "Zangezur Corridor." He reported that physical construction on the Armenian section is expected to begin in early 2027, with Azerbaijan's road infrastructure approximately 95% complete and railway construction at roughly 75%.
