Armenia's Constitutional Court Reviews Disputed June Election Results
Yerevan faces renewed Russian pressure ahead of EU Visit

Armenia's Constitutional Court is hearing challenges to the June 7 parliamentary election results, with seven opposition parties seeking to annul or revise the outcome. The court must issue a decision by July 4.
Key disputes include invalidated polling stations where ballot counts exceeded recorded voters, and allegations that voting continued after official closing times at several precincts. Prosperous Armenia fell just below the 4% parliamentary threshold after the Central Electoral Commission invalidated results at certain stations.
The CEC argues its decisions were legal and properly followed electoral code. Opposition representatives claim systematic violations directed by authorities and argue the elections cannot be considered legitimate.
The electoral dispute coincides with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen's planned July 2 visit to meet with Prime Minister Pashinyan, as Armenia faces renewed Russian pressure regarding its EU engagement.
