Armenia Ranks 59th in Global Innovation Index 2026

Armenia maintained its 59th position among 139 economies in the World Intellectual Property Organization's Global Innovation Index 2026, released September 29. The country improved its Innovation Outputs ranking to 52nd from the previous year, though Innovation Inputs stood at 77th.

Among upper-middle-income economies, Armenia ranked 10th out of 35, and 9th among 18 economies in Northern Africa and Western Asia. The country showed progress in four key pillars: Creative Outputs, Knowledge and Technology Outputs, Infrastructure, and Market Sophistication.

The annual Global Innovation Index evaluates economies across multiple indicators including institutions, human capital, research capacity, infrastructure, market sophistication, and technological development.
