Armenia lose 3-2 to Montenegro in dramatic Nations League clash
Armenia's national football team lost 3-2 to Montenegro in a UEFA Nations League Group C2 match Monday at the Vazgen Sargsyan Republican Stadium in Yerevan. Despite twice drawing level, Armenia conceded a late goal in the closing stages to drop both points at home.
Montenegro scored first, but Eduard Spertsyan equalized for Armenia. Montenegro regained the lead before halftime, then the Armenian squad leveled again in the second half through Spertsyan. However, Montenegro found a winner in the final minutes to secure the victory.
The result gives Armenia three points from two matches, following a 2-0 victory over Latvia in their opening fixture. Montenegro also won their first match, defeating Cyprus 2-1. Armenia will face Cyprus away on October 2.
