Armenia and U.S. Advance Economic Cooperation Discussions
Armenia, U.S. discuss economic cooperation and market economy status process
Armenian Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan met with U.S. Chargé d'Affaires David Allen and Edward Aikler, Head of the Economic and Commercial Section at the U.S. Embassy in Armenia, on July 23 to discuss bilateral economic cooperation and Armenia's path to Market Economy Status.
Both sides affirmed that economic ties between the countries are developing positively, with notable progress in recent months. The discussions centered on the process of granting Armenia Market Economy Status—a designation that would strengthen Armenia's trade position internationally.
Payoyan expressed confidence that continued cooperation between the two nations would help advance the status process and expand their mutual economic agenda. The meeting reflects ongoing diplomatic efforts to deepen U.S.-Armenia economic relations.
