Armenia and Georgia sign MoU on financial sector cooperation
The Central Bank of Armenia and the National Bank of Georgia have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to strengthen cooperation in the financial sector. The agreement aims to enhance stability, transparency, and resilience in both countries' financial systems while protecting depositors and investors.
The memorandum establishes procedures for exchanging information on financial regulation and supervision between the two central banks. It covers licensing and supervision of financial institutions, market conduct, consumer protection, competition, crisis management, payment systems, securities markets, cryptocurrency services, financial technology, and monetary policy.
Official sources indicate the agreement will provide a foundation for effective information sharing and joint initiatives between Armenia's and Georgia's financial regulators.
