Alen Simonyan appointed Secretary of Armeniaโs Security Council
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has appointed former Speaker of Armenia's National Assembly Alen Simonyan as Secretary of the Security Council, according to an official decision. The appointment comes as Pashinyan dismissed Armen Grigoryan from the same position. Grigoryan, who served as Security Council Secretary for nearly eight years, attended his final Cabinet meeting in that capacity before the transition. The reshuffle represents a significant administrative change in Armenia's security leadership structure. Simonyan previously held the position of Speaker of the National Assembly, Armenia's legislative body.
